SNOWSPORT RESORT UPDATE

Snowsport like to keep you up to date with what's new in and around the mountains. Even though we love to spend every spare moment skiing in winter, when the lifts close it's nice to know where the locals like to go and what is new.

We hope you have a great winter on and off the slopes and please drop by the shops to see us,

Tony, Lena and the Snowsport Team.

THE RESTAURANTS

DENMAN's - once again Ed and Judy have raised the bar of fine dining in Thredbo. The relaxed atmosphere is complimented by "melt in the mouth food". Our tip is don't forget to leave room for the Dessert and Cheese Plate!!! Yum! Oh and for an après' drink you can't go past a Capriosca in the Aprè Bar.

BERNTI's - for a casual local atmosphere with a tapas menu you can not go wrong with Berntis' is still the place to go. It has a fantastic buzz and you will always bump into someone you know at the bar. Upstairs has gained itself the reputation as the best steak in the mountains and a hide away that is worth hunting out.

The KNICKERBOCKER - Brad and Monica Spalding from Wild Brumby Schnapps fame have come home to Thredbo. Yeh! Formerly Credo and with a total revamp The Knickerbocker has a relaxed atmosphere a new closed off bar area and wonderful wholesome food with an Austrian flair. The new dècor has amazing attention to detail that only Brad can achieve. The Bar is the perfect place to have a light bar snack and kick back with one of their famous schnapps.

The CURVE BAR Perisher - The new Curve Bar in the upper level of Perisher Centre offers a relaxed atmosphere for your Après' Drinks and an extensive after ski menu. Just around the corner from the shop in Perisher it is a great place to finish your after ski or after shopping experience.

THE RESORTS

The new buzzword for both resorts is communication. You can receive ski reports weather updates, snow cam reports, Trail status, and trail maps and grooming reports straight to your computer or mobile phones. Just log on to Perisher or Thredbo websites to register for the latest links. Not far away is Bluetooth tracking where you can track your skiing movements on your mobile and even find your friends in the resort...stay tuned.

MONSTER BAG JUMP

Thredbo's latest acquisition is the Monster Bag Jump. This 20m by 20m huge air filled bag is a cushion placed at the end of the jump so intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders can test their big air jumping. We think the spectacle will be worth a look and in full view of the The Kosci express lift you don't even have to stop to catch the action.

FLIGHTS RETURN TO COOMA

Good news is that Aeropelican has 3 return flights to Cooma daily Sun to Friday and two Saturday for the ski season. Book early to secure their cheaper flights.
